This course has been designed around the P.E.A.C.E. model of investigative interviewing. The model is based around Cognitive interviewing and communication management and will include interviewing as part of civil and criminal investigations. The model and it’s techniques have been used by police constabularies and other organisations globally for many years due to it’s high level of success.
The course is aimed at those who already have some experience in interviewing witnesses and has been designed specifically to develop existing skills and knowledge, this means it is suitable for legal professionals including investigators, law and insurance personnel and can be counted towards continual professional development (CPD).
The objectives are to improve and develop existing interview techniques and to build confidence and effectiveness through carrying out a variety of individual and group exercises including, Discussions, interview planning and preparation, mock interviews, statement analysis, understanding non-verbal language, how to apply the p.e.a.c.e. model and how to clarify/expand/challenge a witness account.
