The course is intended to provide you with an introduction into the duties, responsibilities and requirements of carrying out mobile and static surveillance operations on foot and in vehicles, gathering evidence, presenting evidence in a structured report format and presenting evidence in court.

The course will also involve learning about legal requirements and restrictions and professional codes of conduct including ethical and professional standards, this area of study will include establishing when it would be appropriate to obtain Security Industry Authority (SAI) approval/licensing for surveillance operations and will examine restrictions under the Private Security Industry Act and the Human rights Act.
